Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is produced by white blood cells as part of the immune response. It acts on bacteria, viruses, and fungi while being gentle on skin and tissue.
That balance is why HOCl is used across so many areas of healthcare and consumer care, from wound and skin to eye, dental, and surgical care.
The challenge has always been making it. HOCl is a highly reactive molecule that naturally degrades over time, so producing it with consistent purity, and in turn stability, is difficult for most manufacturers to achieve.
